Beer List Update
I've been getting slack with keeping my beer list up to date. I had to do some real brain storming to think of the beers I tried in the last couple of months, a few I had had many months ago.
At my work X-mas party I had my first Guiness. Only a schooner because they didn't have anything larger. I only had one as it wasn't too my taste for the festivities so I switched to Crown Lager (the only premium beer on offer). Later in the night we went to a vodka bar where I had my first Carlton Black... instead of vodka.
At my partners work X-mas party I filled up on Corona before we got out to the clubs where I switched to Crown Gold - another new beer for me. I didn't realise at the time it was a mid-strength beer. The flavor is lighter so I assumed they might have been trying to move in on the Corona market.
My partners' nephews' girlfriend had her 18th at the new Irish pub in town where I had my first (and many) Kilkenny. Kilkenny will definitely become a regular beer for me. For reference, whilst our Irish pub has a Irish name and is sold as a Irish bar, it has Elvis and Marilyn Munroe as statue-thingies in Cadillacs on the wall, along with signed League jerseys and cricket bats and a statue of Ned Kelly. Not to mention a pityful selection of beers. Although they do have Toohey's New on a super-cold tap which I am yet to try.
For the X-mas festivities I purchased a carton of Millers Draught and a carton of Steinlager. Steinlager was my new one. I actually got those two cartons and a carton of Smirnoff Double Black (for the missus) for under $100. I don't know how.
At the festivities I shared my collection of beer in exchange for Pure Blondes which I've had long ago (but I'm sure previously it was just a low carb beer, but now it's sold as a premium) and Stone's Premium Ginger Beer which was very refreshing after a full day of drinking lagers.
For X-mas my brother bought me a ice tub that'll hold almost a carton of beer and a 12 pack of mixed beer. There is only one beer in the pack I haven't tried before, a Mexican beer name Sol.
