Buuf Icon Set
My new favorite icon set - Buff. The set contains around 1500 icons in PNG format, and includes a simple utility to convert the PNG's to ICO's. I'm only using the icons on my dock so PNG's are fine. I don't have the patience to apply them to my system. Having painted, gritty icons on my desktop is very refreshing and I'd love to see a Windows visual style that adopted the same styling.
