DeviantArt Highlights
Some days I'll browse DeviantArt and won't see much to keep my attention and then other days, like today, I get hooked and overload on creativity.
What I enjoy so much about DeviantArt is how images are found. If you're not an active participant on DeviantArt you'll never enjoy it. The front page is good to highlight recent works, but if this were only way to find the art, plenty of work would slip under the radar. It's the community that helps bring work into the sight of others.
The other day I set a deviantWatch on odysseyart because I was so impressed by his vector illustrations — specifically his Superman wallpaper . This morning I had notification that odysseyart faved my Feeling Blue illustration. I've gone back to his profile and started browsing his other favourites. And now I'm overwhelmed with eye-candy.
It's great how the community element helps you find other peoples work and helps your own work to be found. With a new deviation submitted ever couple of seconds it's easy to think your work will never be noticed.
So, anyway, here's a couple of images and artists I want to draw your attention to:
- Bride of Plagus by DrewGardner — Sweet Resident Evil 4 fan art. I loved that game.
- Artist Artgerm — I've been lost in this guys work all morning. His style is incredibly varied.
- Pepper Rock by Artgerm — The radiosity so perfectly emulated in this picture, it fooled me into believing it was a photo at first.
- Ninja Kurenai by Artgerm — A beautiful digital watercolour.
- Deadman by monk-art — Kinda reminds me of the skull kid from Zelda.
- know your roots by belldandies — A great tribute to Nintendos past and future. Why can't Nintendo come up with marketing ideas like this?
