Directory Opus 8.2

Version 8.2 of Directory Opus has been released and it contains (as usual) some exciting new features. You can now dynamically resize thumbnails with a slider — a feature that is popular in most photo managing software. You can now rename MP3's based on their tag information. And a new toolbar has been added that allows you to filter what files you see — couple this feature with Flat View and that's a seriously powerful function.

One feature I'm very excited about is Navigation Lock. With a dual lister layout (screenshot) you can lock the listers so when you open a folder in one lister it will open the same named folder in the other lister. This will be fantastic for when I view a local copy of my website in one lister and the FTP site in the other lister. A couple of times I've copied an html file into the wrong FTP folder and with this feature it will never happen again.

Directory Opus is an amazing peice of software. I've used a lot of software that tries to do everything and I find that they are all the Jacks of all trades and Ace of none. Directory Opus is the exception. If you're not convinced check out Getting to know Directory Opus by Leo Davidson.
