If you're quick, you can download Bryce 5 and Poser 5 for free.  The offer for Bryce is meant to end on the 6^th of September, which was yesterday on this side of World.  Poser is offered until the 9^th of September.

If you don't already know Bryce and Poser are 3D modelling programs that were created by the same company and later sold to seperate companies — my point being that they work really well together. 

Bryce allows you to create convincing landscapes with full atmospheric effects and trees.  It even creates convincing textures for mountains where, for example, a snow texture will not apply to steep surfaces and reveal rock instead.

Poser is for modeling people and animals.  Whilst the models are details, it's surprising difficult to create a convincing pose.  And I never figured out how to apply clothes to the people.

Surprisingly, Bryce is only a 24MB download with another 24MB file of presets and doesn't require installation.  Poser is a 644MB download and as of yet I haven't recieved my activation e-mail so I can download it.  But apparently, as long as register in time you can download the software after the 9^th.

UPDATE: Whoah!  Could be a long wait.  I received my activation e-mail from Content Paradise so I could download Poser, but it appears they are only allowing 10 users to download the software at a time.  Since I have my registration code already I might see if it's available in BitTorrent.
