Excite Truck Soundtrack

A good soundtrack can really make a game.  And Excite Truck has a crap one.  I bought Excite Truck for the Wii within a week or two of being released, and until today I didn't really get into it.  I believe it was all because of the soundtrack.

It's no secret Excite Truck can play MP3's stored on an SD memory card, but I had only toyed with it a little and thought you had to manually select a track to play before every race.  This was annoying.  I didn't realise the option to play MP3's for every race was in the options menu (duh!).

So today I loaded up my SD card with System of a Down and not only did my enjoyment of the game increase significantly, so did my driving skills.

It may seem unfair, but if Excite Truck couldn't play your own selection of MP3's, I don't think I could recommend this game.  Its multiplayer is pretty poor.  The gameplay is pretty simple.  The computer opponents are more obstacles then challengers, since they can't trigger terraforming events (like you can) and you don't need to come first to win (although it helps).  But throw in some good music and it's a blast.

Now I have Nintendo thumbs
