Pearl Jam Live Desktop
Is Sony insane!? Do I have 'sucker' tattooed on my head!? Sony creates CD's with root kits and spyware that silently installs on your PC and now they send me an e-mail inviting me to install a Pearl Jam Countdown Desktop.
Get the latest news and background images delivered straight to your desktop every day as you countdown the hours until Pearl Jam's new self-titled album hits stores on April 29! The desktop application gives you a brand new Pearl Jam image every single day, and when you click on the avocado slide panel, you'll reveal an RSS News feed area giving you the latest PJ news straight up.
Yeah, sure that's all it does. It's a 7.6MB download. The Opera browser including widgets, mail, rss reader and source viewer is only 3.8MB. So what's the rest of the code do?
In reality, I'm sure Sony would not have included anything sinister in this package, but I'm never going to take that chance — are you?
On a side note, this is my 100th blog post on microUgly.com. Yay for me!
