Recommended Software - Graphics

I have updated my Recommended Software page to include a 'Graphics' section for Inkscape .

I never included a graphics section before because my tools were always Adobe tools which hardly needed to be brought to peoples attention.  And whilst I've spoken about Inkscape before, I've just came back to Illustrator to do a job I thought might need to provided in a format Inkscape didn't support, or need CMYK colour mode (it didn't), and I swear it has taken perhaps twice as long as it would have in Inkscape.

The most common tasks for a vector applications, such as select and moving anchors/nodes or converting an anchor/node from a corner point to a smooth point is far more simple in Inkscape than in Illustrator and you never find yourself accidentally miss-selecting an anchor/node.  So for this reason alone, I feel Inkscape is worthy of any artists or designers attention.  But Inkscape offers much more than just that.

I intend to post a side-by-side comparison illustrating why Inkscape does it better that Illustrator.  Note that I wouldn't suggest that Inkscape can replace Illustrator for commercial print work, but Adobe could learn a thing or two from it.
