Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
I normally hate double dipping, but the news that Resident Evil 4 will be ported to the Wii is pretty exciting for me. I loved the original version on the Gamecube and was pretty ticked when it was later ported to the Playstation 2 with additional content (specifically the Ada missions).
Now the Wii will be getting the additional content along with being able to use the unique aiming of the Wii remote.
Since I bought the Wii I've been hoping for a port of Killer 7 because I believe the Wii remote is perfectly suited to rail shooters. But I never considered how well it would work with Resident Evil 4 as well.
I only hope that Capcom take the time to up visuals for the Wii hardware - even if it's only the resolution of the textures.
Of course, I'm equally excited by the announcement of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicals. This will be the rail shooter I was hoping for from a Killer 7 port. And since I've only played Resident Evil 1 and 4 I'm pretty excited about the chance to catch up on the stories from past games since Chronicals takes us through all of them.
With luck the success of Resident Evil 4 on the Wii might encourage Capcom to give us Resident Evil 5 as well. If not, well, I intend to buy an Xbox 360 someday anyway.
