Spam-intolerant

It seems, unlike many others, I'm spam-intolerant.

Today I received a note on my DeviantArt account from a user saying how excited he was about DA which helps talented artists like me. The note ended with best wishes and a link to the users DA profile.

Bollocks!  And I let him know by leaving a comment, with a number of profanities, explaining how I objected to being sent such notes purely to entice me to his profile so he gets a higher pageview count or more favs and watches.

He didn't send this note just to me.  His profile is spilling over with responses to the exact same note.  And yet only a tiny fraction of people expressed a distaste for his spam note, the rest praised and thanked him for his kind words.  Praised and thanked him for a note that served no purpose other than to shamelessly promote his own work.

This infuriates me.  I have no tolerance for spam and anyone who does only serves to encourage information pollution.
