Waiting for Xbox 360.1

I'm going to buy an Xbox 360.  This is a pretty big deal as I've only ever owned Nintendo consoles, and I already own the Wii.  I don't want to miss out on great titles that don't or won't translate to the Wii.

But within the first week of the 360's launch I decided I would wait until they created a new version that ironed out the reported hardware issues and reduced the size of the power supply.  Matt Casamassina's (of IGN) blog post, My Fourth Xbox 360 Just Broke, has helped make sure I don't fold and buy the current 360.

Some might think it's stupid to hold off since there's no saying a 360.1 will be released.  It's a chance I'll take.  I took the same chance with the GBA after I read criticisms of it's screen, and I was rewarded with GBA-SP.  I did the same with DS which I thought looked ugly and bulky, and I was rewarded with the DS Lite - which is not only more asthetically pleasing, but has a much better screen.

I expect there would be many people like me who are unwilling to invest in a console that has a good chance of being faulty.  Microsoft would be foolish to not re-release the 360 and attract people like me.
