Wii Pre-orders
I thought it was time to scope out what offers retail stores had in place for pre-orders of the Nintendo Wii, but Vooks has already done the hardwork for me. Since I live in a small town there are very few offers I can take advantage.
I also seen the first Australian pricing for the Wii remote and nun-chuck, which are $70 and $30 respectively. That's a horrifying $100 for the pair! Doesn't the Gamecube cost only $100?
As much as I'm sure I'll enjoy the Wii, I can't help but feel Nintendo is taking us for a ride. $70 for half of a controller is not a 'family friendly' price. The price of the console itself is also unnecessarily beyond a 'family friendly' price. And it no longer makes sense that they chose a marginal upgrade in hardware performance just to keep the console size small and power consumption low. How does the size of a console help gameplay when increased graphics and sound quality doesn't?
