XBox360 for Oz
I just seen that a the Xbox360 now has an official Australian release date of the 2nd of March — feels like we haven't been waiting that long. I don't know what the official retail prices are, but DVDCrave has the core system listed for $528.42 and the premium system at $665.95. An extra $135 for the premium seems pretty reasonable for all the extras you get. In fact both packages seem reasonably price considering, if I remember correctly, the Playstation 2 was retailing for over $700 when it was first released.
So am I getting one? Nope, not yet. I'm happy to wait until the PS3 comes out and it drops in price. And depending on how steady reports of problems continue to roll in, I might wait to see if they release some sort of second revision that includes a HD-DVD player built in (even though Microsoft said they wouldn't).
